VINCI UK Developments formed a 50:50 consortium with Barclays Capital (Doncaster School Solutions Ltd) to provide an integrated delivery model (development, finance, construction and operation) for the provision of the secondary schools for Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council.
The Laurel Academy occupies a 57-acre site. The facility comprises a two storey main building with a gross internal area of 12,650m², and includes external sports facilities, including a macadam multi-sports pitch and grass fields that accommodates various pitches and general uses.
The Sir Thomas Wharton Academy occupies a 32-acre site. The facility comprises a three-storey main building with a gross internal area of 12,904m², and includes external sports facilities including a macadam multi-sports pitch and grass fields that accommodates various pitches and general uses.
VINCI UK Developments arranged construction and operational service delivery through sister companies VINCI Construction UK (VCUK) and VINCI Facilities respectively. VINCI UK Developments provided equity and subordinated debt funding and sourced the senior debt funding from Barclays. Throughout the construction phase and into operations VINCI UK Developments has also managed the project company.
